These are testimonials from students who have actually ‘walked the talk’ in their lives in some way.
Narrated by a student,
"One day in class, my teacher told us how it was important to save the environment and suggested that we go ahead to celebrate a ‘green’ Diwali without any crackers. Our teacher said that since Diwali was a Festival of Lights, we should work on bringing light in the lives of others around us. It was a completely new thought for me. I could not imagine a Diwali without crackers. But there was something that happened to me that day. My teacher’s words spoke to me. I was suddenly set afire with a new thought. I had read about the deadly Hudhud cyclone that had hit the coastline of Vizag and I wanted to do something for the cyclone victims. So when my father handed me some money for Diwali, I returned it to him and asked him to spend that amount on the cyclone victims. My father had tears in his eyes and said that he was ashamed that he as an elder did not have that thought but as a kid I could think of this. My father was only too happy to oblige. He gathered a group of young men who quickly gathered essentials like tarpaulin sheets, blankets, clothes and went in person to distribute them to the victims of the cyclone."

A student's words,
"It was just before the Board Exams started. One day, Ma’am was asking to consciously eat healthy food. She asked us not to eat anything from outside. We were to eat only home–made food. At the end of class when most of the students had left the class, I overheard Ma’am talking to a classmate. The student was weeping and ma’am was saying that ma’am would herself bring lunch for her. I took courage and intercepted the conversation saying that I would like to bring her lunch. Ma’am at first hesitated but when 3 or 4 of us classmates got together and persuaded ma’am that it wasn’t a burden for us and that we would take turns to bring her the lunch, ma’am was finally convinced. We were all so thrilled. To me, it was an opportunity that I didn’t want to miss at any cost. So for the entire period of the Board examinations, 3 of us classmates took turns to get her the best of food items. It was such a satisfying experience. At the end of the month, that classmate of mine whose mother was ill, came up to the three of us with tears in her eyes and thanked us and told us that she had got lifelong friends in us. We were all so happy that we could at last make her happy. She was always so low because of her mother’s illness but when she saw us, she always smiled. That was very rewarding."
